Summary
Black wool cocktail tuxedo suit with satin faced revers and large jewelled baroque peral droplet buttons to the faux waistcoat; narrow matching knee length skirt; labelled 'Gianfranco Ferre, made in Italy, 40'. Ferre established his own label for womenswear in 1978 and his own couture label in 1986. He replaced Marc Bohan as chief designer at Dior in 1989 where he remained until 1997.
