Belonged to the private collector, BillyBoy*, the avante-garde artist, designer and art collector who has been collecting top-end couture for 40 years and who lives in Switzerland. He bought it in the 1970s directly from the original wearer, who said that she had acquired if for a wedding in 1940. However, there is little evidence of Paquin Pret a Porter before the late 1940s.
