Summary

Claret-coloured silk damask gown, a robe a l'anglais. Open robe in claret silk damask with large-scale bold stylised floral pattern. Robe a l'anglais with narrow central back panel stitched in and uncut at waist; inner linen tabs with eyelet holes for lacing under stomacher; attached shaped cuffs in self fabric, closely wavy-ruched; bodice lined striped blue/natural linen; skirts lined cream glazed callimanco with pairs of loops for polonaising the skirt. transferred from the Whitworth Art Gallery. Donated by a Dr A W Lang in 1939.
