Summary

Woollen cardigan in 'Vine' design in pale blue and grey with a vertical scrolling stylised arrow-head vine either side centre front; 6 shiny black toggles as buttons; turn down collar; ribbed cuffs and welt; woven label, cb neck: Jay Musson, made in England, Dry Clean' and printed label 'Browns'. Donated by Jay Musson Knitwear. The partnership of Jay Musson and Stephen Bennington began at Manchester School of Art in the 1960s, and after degrees at Central St Martins and Chelsea, they launched their first line of knitwear in 1971. For the mid to late 1970s and early 1980s, their boldly patterned knitwear achieved major success, with Stevie Wonder and the Communards wearing jumpers.They produced their last line (waistcoats) in 1991.
