Public: Posset on stand comprising three cups with pierced sides, on single baluster stem, red earthenware, with trailed white slip decoration of spots and inscription. Private: Posset on stand comprising three deep conjoined cups, with everted rims and trefoil shaped base, on narrow baluster stem with stepped spreading foot, single pierced hole in each adjoining cup side. Dark red earthenware body showing treacly dark brown through lead glaze, cups decorated with trailed white slip spots in groups of eight and inscription round rims reading 'HEARE IS A HEALTH TO:K.W' (King William) enclosed within spotted borders, white slip showing warm yellow through glaze. Spotted white slip border along conjoined cup rims. Slip undercoat has crumbled beneath heavy lead glaze on underside of bowl giving crackled texture.
