Summary
rounded turndown collar; rectangular yoke across each shoulder, joined at centre back by additional section, lined thick natural wool checked in blue, black and deep pink; open down centre front fastening seven mother of pearl buttons and worked buttonholes to waist, three bone buttons and buttonholes below waist; centre front to side back in one width each side of centre back panel of half width panel of smocking (straight and zigzag lines) to waist each side centre front and across centre back; pocket (white cotton) with flap at hip each side; long sleeves in one straight section with square gusset under arm, small panel smocking at shoulder, deep panel above wrist, opening above wrist faced fastening bone button, narrow wristband fastening bone button; 8.5" square of double thickness attached at inner edge across shoulders embroidered with four hearts and ferns, trimmed four pearl buttons; two swirls embroidered at centre back, feather stitched zigzag bands round collar, cuffs and pocket flaps and down sides of smocked panels.
