Summary

Public: Circular punch bowl, white earthenware, with transfer-printed Chinoiserie landscape in underglaze cobalt blue. Private: Deep circular bowl with prominent circular footring. Printed in well of bowl and on exterior sides with 'Bridge' pattern of two pagoda-like buildings to right, one a teahouse with large circular window, amongst group of trees with pathway to left. River and small island with pagoda to left, bridge spanning river, with two figures crossing. Small scattered islands with houses and trees in background above central scene, six rocks in the water around them. Deep border inside rim of elaborate honeycomb diaper interrupted by scrolls, large rosettes and semi-circular drapes. Plain footring. Pattern : Bridge (see notes)
