Jug, earthenware, modelled lip, decorated with black transfer-printed chevron border pattern to rim and handle, a Manchester scene within a cartouche and inscribed ROYAL JUBILEE EXHIBITION MANCHESTER 1887, and, on the reverse, the Montagu family coat of arms with the motto DESPONENDO / ME NON / MUTANDO / M [??] / MANCHESTER.
