Summary

Public: Teapot, soft paste porcelain, relief-moulded and painted in purple, yellow, green, blue, brown, iron red and turquoise overglaze enamels and gilt with floral decoration. Private: Globular teapot tapering to narrow footring, with short narrow neck and scrolling foliate loop handle and spout. Body decorated with relief-moulded scale pattern and painted with two different sprays of flowers, including roses, chrysanthemums and fuschia, surrounded by small scattered sprigs. Foliate terminals of handle and spout picked out in turquoise blue, gilt motifs along their lengths. Gilt dentil border to rim of neck. High domed cover, with relief-moulded scale pattern and painted sprigs, gilt dentil border to flattened rim. Elaborate loop finial of two stems intertwined at the top, picked out in turquoise and gilt.
