Summary

Public: Fluted teabowl and saucer, soft paste porcelain, painted with bleu de roi enamel and gilt decoration. Private: Deep teabowl tapering to curved base and narrow footring, with fluted sides and scalloped rim. Sides decorated with bleu de roi tongue border, each tongue outlined in gilt and overpainted with gilt guilloche, against plain white body with small gilt dots at regular intervals. Gilt scalloped edging to rim, gilt band to footring. Gilt beaded band inside rim, single sprig of flowers in centre of well. Deep saucer with high sloping sides, flat base and circular footring, fluted on upper surface, with scalloped rim. Sides decorated with bleu de roi and gilt tongue and guilloche border, gilt floral sprig and outline to well.
