Summary

Charcoal woollen suiting Cut with sloping fronts, conservative collar and high revers. Fastening CF with 2 black thread covered buttons and with 2 similar buttons CB surmounting the 2 pleats. Horizontal waistseam from CF round to back pleats; side seams to waist; arching side back seams, CB seam and vent; shoulder seams, curved sleeves with double seams and 2 thread-covered buttons at sleeves. Slanting breast pocket. Lined; black mercerised cotton with parallel rows of machine pad-stitched quilting around the armholes. Sleeves lined with cotton shirting. Fronts faced with self woollen suiting and with 2 small inner pockets. Label; CB "John Key & Sons, Tailors & Outfitters, Rugeley". See also top hat (1986.243, with box).
