Summary

Public: Coffee cup, tea cup and saucer, soft paste porcelain, painted overglaze in pink, puce, purple, turquoise, black, iron red and green enamels and gilt with ornate foliage pattern. Private: Tall fluted coffee cup curving to flat base, tapered footring and ear shaped loop handle. Slightly everted, scalloped rim. Dentil edge to rim, wide mauve border below divided into twelve sections alternating purple leaves and gilt herringbone pattern. Main body painted with festoons of green and red hops between six narrow panels of mauve flowers bordered in pink. Surrounding footring, wide pearl border in turquoise, grey and black, interrupted at intervals by foliate motif in black. Border edged with ornate gilt scrolls, gilt detail on handle. Shallow wide fluted tea cup, tapering to curved base and tapering footring. Ear shaped loop handle and scalloped rim. Same pattern as coffee cup, well decorated with floral spray within wide gilt circle. Fluted saucer, with curving sides and tapering footring. Upper surface decorated with same pattern of mauve border, alternating panels of foliage and mauve floral sprays, turquoise border with line of pearls. In the centre, within turquoise border, circular panel outlined in gilt and filled with floral spray. Pattern : Hop Trellis
