Summary

Public: Barrel shaped teapot, hard paste porcelain, painted overglaze in green, purple, pink, yellow and iron red enamels and gilt with floral festoons. Private: Fat barrel shaped teapot with flat base, narrow flat shoulder and short tapering neck. Elaborate ear shaped loop handle with moulded husks along back, moulded leaf detail at bottom. Tapering spout with moulded ribs and laurel wreath at junction with body. Body painted with five floral and foliate festoons, suspended from five green loops painted on shoulder, each with large spray of flowers at lowest point. Scalloped gilt border round shoulder, gilt rim to neck, gilt detail to handles and spout. Shallow domed lid, finial missing, scalloped gilt border at edge, with four floral and foliate festoons suspended from loops on central gilt circle.
