Summary

Public: Diamond shaped teapot and stand made of hard paste porcelain, painted in red, pink, puce, black and green enamels with floral sprays. Private: 'Silver' or 'Commode' shaped teapot of diamond shape with rounded edges, single vertical ridge in centre of each side. Thick ear-shaped loop handle with ridge along its back and arrow shaped terminals. S-shaped faceted spout, flat shoulder, tall waisted circular neck. Each side of teapot painted at rounded edge of diamond with spray of flowers, two pink roses back to back, three sharp leaves above, two round iron red leaves below. Tiny sprigs of leaves scattered round it, small sprig of flowers on vertical ridge either side. Flat shoulder has undulating red dotted line weaving round another undulating line with leaves, roses and pimpernels at intervals. Black and purple borderlines to neck. Spout and handle picked out in puce. Convex circular lid with flask shaped finial, central vent hole running through it. Lid painted with same pattern of weaving undulating lines and flowers, finial tip painted puce. Diamond shaped stand with short tapering sides, thick flat ridge in middle of each side. Painted more crudely than teapot with same spray of flowers in centre, surrounded by sprigs of leaves and flowers. Sides painted with undulating lines and flowers.
