Summary

Public: Tea cup and saucer, bone china, printed with grey panelling and puce flower outlines, filled in with bright enamel colours and gilt detail. Private: Wide tea cup with flaring sides and everted rim, tapering to narrow curved base. Narrow, flaring footring. 'Three-spur' loop handle with outward curving thumb rest and two small cusps lower down. Moulded leaf detail on upper side of cup rim, outlined in gilt, surmounting wide grey border with irregular wavy edge to bottom. Wavy gilt band with tenrils round bottom of grey. Well and sides of cup painted with sprays of flowers in bright enamels around small central floral spray in gilt. Single wavy gilt stem with leaves and berries round body on exterior, gilt leaf detail on back of handle, gilt band round foot. Circular saucer with wide shallow well and curving sides. Moulded at rim with leaf details outlined in gilt. Six vertical grey panels with gilt outlines reach from rim of saucer towards centre, dividing sides into six wide panels of flowers, outlines printed in puce and filled in with enamels. Grey panels terminate in gilt C-scrolls surrounding small central spray of flowers.
