Paint your own Truck Art inspired coaster with artist Lubna Tahir
Paint your own beautiful tin pot inspired by Pakistani Truck Art and chai tea culture. Artist Lubna Tahir will guide you through the process inspired by her Drink but with Love table on display in the Trading Station teahouse. By the end of the session, you will have your own painted pot to use as you wish.
This event is happening online and will be led by Lubna from the Trading Station teahouse. Due to Covid19 restrictions, we cannot run the session as planned and provide materials. The event is free but you will need to have the following materials to be able to join in. You will have some left over to use again. Please only book if you can gather these materials in advance.
You will need a suitable table/ space to work on. You may want to cover it in a newspaper before the session.
- A tin vessel to paint on.This could be a clean and non sharp food tin, a tin candle holder, an enamel mug or plate
- Acrylic paint: primary colours + white paint
- A flat paint brush (more than one if possible)
- One angled paint brush
- Water containers
- Plain paper / pencil
- Tissue paper / old rag
- A palette tray or plate for mixing paint
- A black sharpie
We will be using the Zoom platform to run the sessions
You can access zoom through a laptop, tablet or smartphone, just something that has a camera and mic. You don’t need to create an account to access the session.
You will be emailed a link before the start of the session.
