Teachers, tutors and lecturers are invited to Manchester Art Gallery for a preview of up and coming exhibitions and associated free workshops for Manchester Institutions.
Curators and learning team members will be on hand to share information about future plans and help you explore how you can get involved.
There will be opportunities to find out about
Martin Parr: Return to Manchester
November 2018–April 2019
Martin Parr shows how the lives of Mancunians have changed but also reveals how there is continuity in how we live our lives. A curator’s tour will provide insight to the work on display, supporting self-guided tours of the exhibition that offer young Mancunians an opportunity to reflect on their city.
Leonardo da Vinci: A Life in Drawing
February 2019– May 2019
Marking the 500th anniversary of the death of Leonardo da Vinci, a display of 12 of the Renaissance master’s greatest drawings in the Royal Collection will be on display. These all reflect aspects of the human body and we will be setting up a life drawing studio for your students to develop their techniques and skills.
Nordic Craft and Design
6 July 2018–7 July 2019
Highlights the superb quality and creativity inherent in design from the region. Using dresses on display, newly purchased couture garments and historical handling collections, we will provide a rare opportunity to work close up and draw from inspiring pieces.
Get Together and Get Things Done
17 May 2019–29 September 2019
What brings people together, from protest to partying? What is the use of a crowd? We believe that arts education is an essential part of everyone’s education. We would like to hear your ideas and thoughts and how we can support this.
We will be providing refreshments for this event so please let us know if you are attending
