Anthony Amoako-Attah is an innovator in international glass art and winner of the Artist of the Fair at Collect, the leading international craft fair. He makes colourful glass sculptures inspired by the iconic Kente cloth of Ghana, alive with the movement and texture of billowing cloth.
Manchester Art Gallery has just commissioned Anthony Amoko-Attah to make our latest craft acquisition, ‘Dancing With Culture’.
In this special live discussion and zoom event at the Gallery, he will reveal how he was inspired to merge the complex graphic patterns of Kente cloth with the fluidity of glass, bringing fresh perspectives to both the living tradition of Ghanaian textiles and contemporary glass.
