Explore the history of Manchester through the eyes of an artist
Manchester Art Gallery
Saturday 5 December 2020, 4pm–5pm
Free, please book on Eventbrite
It wasn’t just Lowry and Valette who were inspired to paint our great city! Join our Guide Julia Marwood to explore the fascinating history of Manchester as seen through the eyes of the artist, starting with a Londoner who was moved to put pen to paper by a great event which unfolded here, the Peterloo Massacre – and ending with a contemporary sculptor whose fascination with the buildings of the city began with childhood visits here and inspired her later work.
Manchester Art Gallery has an amazing team of volunteer guides who deliver tours at the gallery usually four times a week.
While we can’t gather people together physically for tours at this time, the team will be delivering online sessions twice a month using Zoom.
Using Zoom
We will be using the platform Zoom to bring people together.
You can access zoom through a laptop, tablet or smart phone. You don’t need to create an account to access the session.
