Make space in your life to make art
Manchester Art Gallery
Thursday 4 February 2016, 6pm–8pm
Make Space in your life for this creative, artist led workshop for adults. Adults often don’t get the chance to play enough but artists are brilliant at being playful and we want to share this more.
Artist, Nicola Dale makes delicate sculptures using paper and other ephemeral or natural materials. Underpinned by a rigorous attention to process, she investigates what her hands can achieve with minimal apparatus. Her work takes time. Her engagement with manual processes and her focus on cut, curl and contour belie our diminishing sense of touch.
Our February Make Space will use the exhibition Modern Japanese Design as a starting point. Nicola will create a tranquil environment for you to make a beautiful and graceful paper sculptures inspired by Japanese principles of Wabi Sabi. This is a great opportunity to be creative, share ideas, learn a new way of doing things or a new way of looking at art and life.
All materials provided.
The event is free but please reserve a space on Event Brite.
