Tea, coffee and chat.
Monday 3 August 2020, 11am–12pm
Free, please book on Eventbrite
We all have stories to tell about our relationship to tea and coffee. Join a team of staff and gallery volunteers for a relaxed conversation about all things related to hot drinks.
This session we will be talking about tea and coffee drinking in relation to colonialism and empire. Thinking about the tea drinking in the later part of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century.
Please bring along any tea and coffee objects and thoughts about this to the session.
We will also be thinking about images in the Manchester Art Gallery produced by the Empire Marketing Board
This session usually runs in the gallery and is connected with the current exhibition Trading Station.
