Held at Old Trafford, Art Treasures featured 16,000 exhibits and attracted over 1.3 million visitors, including Queen Victoria, Charles Dickens and John Ruskin.
This exhibition both celebrated this major artistic event and brought back to Manchester some of the outstanding pictures and artworks which were on show.
The exhibition included works by British artists such as Gainsborough, Turner, Constable and the Pre-Raphaelites, as well as European old masters including Michelangelo.
