An exhibition of the winning artworks from our 2010 Inspired by... competition.
Manchester Art Gallery
Saturday 15 May 2010–Sunday 18 July 2010
Free
Visitors to the gallery were invited to view the winning artworks from the 2010 edition of our annual Inspired by... competition. All the works were created by non-professional adult artists in response to an artwork from our collections.
2010’s imaginative pieces were made by gallery visitors from Manchester, Bolton and as far afield as Melbourne, Australia! They included a giant teacup and saucer made from sweets and paper inspired by some of the china in our Gallery of Craft and Design, a stunning piece of stitched textiles inspired by the decorative William de Morgan tiles in our Pre-Rapahaelite Gallery and a contemporary take on life in Cornwall inspired by Christopher Wood’s painting of Mousehole.
