Summary
Blue corded silk brocaded with flowers in silver strip. Bodice lined with white linen. Pointed waistline. Lining of back bodice fitted. Back of bodice cut to form train. Elbow length sleeves with double falling cuffs, edged in silver lace. Skirt has slit over each hip. Neck and front edges trimmed with silver lace. Hem lined with blue silk. Later ruffles sewn into sleeves, net edged bobbin lace. Skirt shaped for side hoops. Petticoat : Brocaded silk. Plain blue silk at CB, brocaded at hem. Sewn to later waistband fastening CB. Silver lace flounce at hem. Hem lined with blue silk. Stomacher : Blue satin over white linen. Triangular piece, trimmed with silver braid with spangles, in horizontal lines. Blue and silver ribbon bow at base. Received with Stockings and Shoes 1958.21/3
