A view of a river from the left bank with a city on the far bank, and a large four storey late Georgian style building at the centre overlooking the river. There are a group of small boats in the foreground to the right and a foot bridge spanning the river in the middle ground, left of centre. There are cottages on the waters edge in the middle ground to the right.
