Text from the accompanying booklet produced by the Vasari Society: "No. 32 URS GRAF (b. about 1485; d. 1529) PORTRAIT OF A MAN In the Collection of Mr. G. Mayer. Pen and ink. 15.5 x 10.8 cm. (6 1/8 x 4 1/4 in.) An unusually finished and refined example of Graf's work, signed with his initials VG and in the borax box, emblem of the goldsmith's craft, which frequently forms part of his signature, as the Swiss soldier's dagger does on other occasions.
