Girl Musing

Walter Richard Sickert 1860 - 1942

Summary

Monochrome drawing of a young woman, seated in profile to the right, within an interior setting. She is seated on the edge of a wooden chair and leans slightly forward to rest her elbows on the table before her; she rests her chin on her clasped hands and has a distant expression. The young woman wears a wide-brimmed hat with a decorative band around the crown and a blouse and skirt with a wide waistband. In the left background is a window through which can be seen the outline of neighbouring buildings.
