Summary
Sailed boats on a calm sea. The boats are small with patched and ragged sails. At the centre foreground there is a boat with its sails down at the prow; it is carrying six people. Beside it is a boat with its sail hoisted at the centre and one figure is visible in front of the sail. To the left is a third boat with three figures visible and its foresail hoisted. A ship with a large mast can be seen at the right midground.
