Summary

Public: Ginger jar and cover made of white earthenware, painted with flowers and budding stems in silver lustre and copper red on an orange-red glaze. Private: Thrown globular ginger jar with short, straight neck, and domed circular cover, decorated with an orange-red glaze turning green around the base. Painted over this, a pattern of twenty-eight five-petal flowers, all with copper red centres or petals, silver lustre outlines and detail, on budding lustre stems growing diagonally from right to left. Plain lustre bands round base. Pattern continues over lid, with five whole flowers, plain lustre inside. shape : 2641 range : Lancastrian
