Summary

Public: Wide necked bucket-shaped jar, white earthenware, decorated with three fish and weeds in silver lustre and copper red over an orange glaze. Private: Bucket shaped jar tapering to foot, with wide neck and wide concave rim, decorated with a bright orange glaze, deepening down body and blending into green round base. Body painted with silver lustre pattern of three fish with copper red eyes, swimming amongst six clumps of broad-leafed weeds, three tall clumps separating the fish, three short clumps beneath them. Irregular wavy lines and bubbles indicate swirling water, river bed painted round base of vase. Rim painted in silver lustre with arabesque scroll border over a bright copper red glaze. Thick dark iridescent lustre on interior.
