Summary

Public: Globular jar, white earthenware, decorated with seven fish swimming amongst weeds in iridescent silver lustre and copper red on lustrous coloured glaze. Private: Thickly potted, straight sided globular jar on thick footring, with rounded shoulder and wide, short, slightly flared neck. Body decorated with coloured Opalescent glaze which ranges from deep copper red round neck through shades of brown and gold to a pale turquoise blue on one side, copper lustre sheen in places. Painted pattern round body of seven large fish in iridescent silver lustre ranging from deep gold to a pale yellow, eyes and fins picked out in copper red. Four stems of weeds behind fish in yellow-brown silver lustre, rising from river bed painted round base of jar. Dark lustre scroll border round neck against copper red, dark lustre rim. Cobalt blue glaze over jar interior.
