Summary

Ovoid vase, tapering to flared footring, with sloping shoulder and narrow, straight neck. Decorated with a curdled dark blue-green glaze. Painted in silver lustre round body with three prowling leopards in a woodland setting amongst tufts of grass and small plants. Three trees between leopards, with gnarled and bent trunks and spreading leafy branches, joining together above animals to form a canopy. Small copper red spots amongst the leaves. Meandering stream indicated by group of three parallel wavy lines running round body below leopards. Neck painted with Chinese classic scroll pattern in silver lustre, some scrolls fully or partially filled in with copper red. Narrow silver and copper bands round neck rim and foot.
