Public: Cylindrical jar and cover, white earthenware, decorated with pattern of four galleons on a stormy sea in silver lustre, over a pink and peach lustrous glaze. Private: Swollen cylindrical jar tapering to foot and curved shoulder, wide straight neck. Domed cover with pointed finial sits inside neck rim. Decorated with a rose pink glaze blending into peach round lower body. Painted silver lustre pattern of four galleons with sails billowing, sailing bow to stern on a stormy sea indicated by thick scrolling lines. Plain silver lustre neck and cover. shape : 2889 range : Lancastrian
