Summary

Public: 'Meiping' baluster vase, white earthenware, decorated with four hawk-like birds amongst grapevines, in silver lustre and copper red on an orange glaze. Private: Baluster vase tapering to narrow flared foot, short narrow neck with flared rim. Decorated in a mottled yellow-orange glaze with occasional copper red spots. Painted in silver lustre with four interlacing grapevines, lustre darkening to brown at shoulder, with twelve bunches of grapes in copper red, red colour bleeding into base glaze around each bunch. Round upper body four hawk-like birds sit perched on vines feeding on grapes. Lustre has reacted with glaze down one side of vase, giving brown stains on orange glaze.
