Summary

Public: Globular vase, white earthenware, decorated with a pattern of fish swimming amongst weeds, in silver and copper lustre over a green and blue glaze. Private: Thrown globular vase tapering to narrow, straight footring, with rounded shoulder and short, flared neck. Decorated with a speckled, slightly dimpled glaze, dark green round shoulder and upper body, blending into dark cobalt blue round lower body and foot. Painted in silver lustre with three slender fish, one with copper lustre details, swimming between three weeds. Three small water plants round base between weeds, and streams of bubbles in waves round body and concentrated on shoulder. Plain silver band round footring, iridescent silver neck.
