Summary

Public: Ginger jar and cover, white earthenware, decorated with five fish in swirling water, in silver and copper lustre over a bright orange glaze. Private: Small squat ginger jar with domed cover, curving in to straight flat foot, with visible potting rings on body and short straight neck. Decorated with a bright orange glaze. Painted round upper body with five scale-less fish swimming nose to tail, eyes and fins in copper lustre and silver bubbles at their mouths. Swirling water indicated by streaked diagonal silver and copper lustre lines, broadening into copper lustre patches at shoulder and foot. Occasional tufts of grass on river bed at foot, narrow copper lustre band round silver lustre neck. Plain dull gold coloured silver lustre cover.
