Summary

Public: Ginger jar and cover, white earthenware, decorated with five fish in swirling water, in silver and copper lustre over a bright orange glaze. Private: Squat globular vase with tall neck, red earthenware, decorated with four deer between cypress trees, in silver and copper lustre over a bright green glaze, on narrow flared footring, with tall, narrow neck with slightly everted rim. Decorated with a bright green glaze which has curdled round waist revealing red body underneath. Painted round body in silver lustre with four deer standing amongst tufts of grass and plants, between four cypress trees. Each tree festooned with laurel swags bearing small copper lustre flowers, reaching across the tree tops to form a bower above the deer. Four Chinese classic scrolls above this, positioned above each deer. Thin copper lustre band at base of neck, neck covered in plain silver lustre turning iridescent near rim. Silver lustre is heavily tarnished.
