Summary

Public: Circular bowl, white earthenware, decorated with feathery foliage and undulating stems, in silver and copper lustre over a lustrous orange-red glaze. Private: Deep bowl with tapering sides curving in to narrow footring. Decorated with a lustrous orange-red glaze, smooth on interior, curdled and broken up into red and yellow on exterior sides. Exterior painted in dark silver lustre with eight diagonal panels of feathery foliage, above series of silver bands. Interior painted with wavy border of feathery foliage in silver lustre round rim. Sides and well painted in copper lustre with undulating stems that emerge from lustre flower in centre of well, twisting and coiling round flower into horizontal wavy lines with occasional small leaves. Copper lustre in well has misfired in places revealing pale yellow patches of base glaze beneath.
