Summary
Ivory white horsehair ribbon woven in lattice pattern with msall diaper pattern within the lattices. Pagoda-shaped hat with pointed crown. The crwon is blacked or steamed into a pagoda shape. The brim of the hat is formed by an additional band of horsehair ribbon. the brim is stiffened with wire in the seam between the scalloped outer edge and the straight ribbon. This gives a stiffened back to the brim which then falls over the face in a graceful curve. Formely on loan to Exeter Museum - see article by Pam Inder in costume VII 1973. pp.62-67
