Summary

Public: Tea cup and saucer, soft paste porcelain, decorated in underglaze scale blue ground, with Japanese flowers and wheat sheaves in iron red, green and blue enamels and gilt. Private: Wide tea cup with curved base, narrow footring and ear shaped loop handle. Sides and handle decorated in underglaze scale blue ground with two rococo mirror-shaped reserves alternating with three vase-shaped reserves. Reserves outlined in untidy gilt scrolls and filled with stylised chrysanthemums and other flowers in red, green, blue and gilt; two wheatsheaves in mirror-shaped reserve on one side. Small reserves round upper edge of cup, above vase reserves, also filled with chrysanthemums. Plain white footring, gilt cup rim and gilt detail on handle. Deep saucer with curving sides and well, on tapered footring. Same pattern of scale blue ground with three mirror-shaped and three vase-shaped reserves, round central circular reserve edged in scalloped gilt line and filled with spray of daisy type flowers.
