Summary

In the form of a cylindrical box with flat topped lid in the middle of which is an orifice for the passage of the taper. The lid is closely fitting and in a plain brass mount. Enamel on metal and painted in colours with two panels of flower sprays on the lid and two around the sides, all on white backgrounds within gilt scroll borders upon a rose Pompadour ground decorated with floral sprays in gold.
