Summary
Slightly distorted oval bowl with deep straight sides and flat base, white earthenware considerably stained through continued use. One side of bowl printed in underglaze cobalt blue with adapted version of Willow type pattern depicting a Chinese temple on the banks of a river, with a bridge and willow tree to the left. The other side printed with repeated fill in motif of small island with two small pagoda type buildings. Ornate border of different diaper grounds round interior below rim.
