Summary

Pale fawn voile with embroidered motifs in grey and stone coloured silks. Underbodice of net to which back of bodice and skirt are attached. Sides fall loosely with weighted ends. Underbodice fastening CF. Sleeves wide at shoulder. Underskirt of net with voile attached at each side, overskirt with longer, narrow panel back and front. Embroidered motifs with central geometrical pattern in looped stitch, surrounded by irregular linear pattern in chain stitch, across back and front of bodice, down sleeves and round sides of skirt. Black ribbon band at wrist. Sleeves have been altered by the addition of crochet cuffs (late 19th Century) and dress was lengthened from original form (the donor who wore the dress is above average height).
