baking dish
Summary
Deep rectangular moulded dish with sloping sides and notched rim. Upper surface decorated with a slip-trailed pattern of white and red lines trailed widthways and feathered with parallel lines in alternating directions lengthways. Colours appear white and dark red through glaze. This decoration would have been applied to the clay slab before shaping over a hump-mould. Rim and underside blackened through extensive use, probably as a baking dish.
