Summary
Thrown pear-shaped cream jug on narrow spreading foot, tapering to tall cylindrical neck with sparrow beak lip. Applied strap loop handle with indistinct relief-moulded decoration and pinched and flattened spur at lower terminal. Band of incised diagonal lines around belly, reserving continuous row of plain diamonds, alternately stamped with applied reliefs including, from right of handle, unicorn head, exotic bird, sprig of acorns, elaborate fruit bowl, flower head, unicorn head, sprig of acorns. Narrow turned and rouletted bands immediately above, second rouletted band beneath neck rim. Two applied stamped reliefs either side of neck, comprising exotic bird perched between two heavy flowers. Flat circular cover with indistinct stamped reliefs of animal head and flower, within circular rouletted border. Central kylin finial.
