Summary

Rounded oval sauce boat tapering to flat base, with tall prominent lip and applied strap loop handle with pinched and flattened spur at lower terminal. Two-part press-moulded body with relief-moulded decoration on each side of central scrollwork cartouche against reeded basketwork ground. Cartouche contains palm fronds and a pineapple displayed in a basket, scrollwork frame embellished with acanthus details. Narrow borders of acanthus to foot and mouth, quality of relief-moulding much sharper on one side than the other.
