Summary

Public: Lozenge shaped teapot with serpent spout, made of white and brown agate earthenware. Private: Lozenge shaped teapot, with angled tapering base on moulded stepped foot, angled shoulder and short straight neck. S-shaped spout in the form of an open-mouthed serpent rising from grotesque mask, plain loop handle with outer spur at lower terminal. Lozenge-shaped stepped cover with central lozenge finial and small pierced hole. Crisp marbled dark brown, light brown and white earthenware body, brown colour bleeding slightly into the glaze.
