Summary

Public: Globular teapot, yellow ochre lead-glazed earthenware, with white handle, spout and applied relief decoration, picked out in manganese purple and green. Private: Tall globular teapot on turned spreading foot, with slight collar to neck. Yellow ochre earthenware body with white handle and spout, both moulded with acanthus detail, outward leafy spur to lower handle terminal. Body decorated with applied stamped reliefs in white on each side, comprising two standing male figures alternating with two seated women each bouncing a child on her lap, above two hounds chasing a hare. Handle, spout and applied reliefs picked out with tiny daubs of manganese purple and green bleeding into lead-glaze. Flat circular cover of red body with pierced baluster finial, and applied reliefs of woman and child and hound chasing a hare, picked out in purple and green.
