Summary

Child's dress. White muslin embroidered. Wide neck, narrow feather stitched band edged with lace. Bodice front in three sections, tapering centre front panel embroidered with grass and flowers in white cotton; satin stitch, openwork and stem stitch. Scalloped embroidered frill on each side, over shoulder and back of neck. Back in one section each side of CB opening, gathered to neck and narrow featherstitched waistband. Drawstring at neck and waist, pearl button and buttonhole. Skirt, closely gathered to bodice, in three straight sections. CF panel widening towards hem. Embroidered like bodice, two frills as with bodice, scalloped embroidery at hem. Back opening inscribed "Higgens".
