Summary
Public: Figure of a man on horseback, white earthenware, decorated with sponged and painted black, yellow ochre, green, blue, yellow and pink beneath a pearlware glaze. Private: Press-moulded figure of a man riding a horse, on rounded rectangular plinth with shell-moulded sides. High temperature underglaze decoration, of painted yellow ochre patches to horse, heavily outlined in black, with black mane, tail, hooves and bridle, blue, yellow and pink saddle-cloth and ochre saddle. Horseman is dressed in white breeches with black and ochre boots, green and ochre jacket and tall black hat. Plain green plinth with sponged sides in black blue and ochre vertical stripes. Fine blue pearlware glaze, slightly crazed.
